Billing
One price for everything: what $80 a month covers, the free trial, subscribing and managing the card, what happens if you stop, and the beta promise.
For campaign adminsThe price
DoorLine is $80 CAD a month per campaign. That is the whole price list. It covers every feature: door knocking, the live map, lawn signs, lit drops, GOTV, estimated votes, volunteers, events and shifts, Organizing mode, and constituent casework. Add as many canvassers and admins as you like; there are no seats. Taxes are added at checkout where they apply.
The free trial
A new campaign gets 14 days free with no card. Everything works during the trial except the two features meant for the years between elections (see Organizing mode and casework). Settings → Billing shows the date the trial ends, and a banner appears across the admin console in the last two weeks.
Subscribe
Only the campaign owner sees the buttons. Open Settings → Billing and tap Subscribe. You land on a Stripe checkout page for the card details; DoorLine never sees or stores the card number. When the payment goes through you are sent back to Settings and the status reads Active with the next renewal date.
If the page still shows the trial for a moment after you return, tap Refresh status. The confirmation from Stripe is normally instant; occasionally it takes a few seconds.
Change the card, see invoices, cancel
Manage billing opens Stripe's customer portal for this campaign. Change the card, download every invoice and receipt for your financial return, or cancel. A cancelled subscription runs to the end of the month you have paid for; Settings shows that date and the account stays fully working until then.
If a charge fails, the status changes to Payment failed and a banner asks for a new card. Nothing is locked while Stripe retries, which it does for a few weeks before giving up and cancelling.
If you stop paying
When the trial ends without a subscription, or a subscription is cancelled and the paid month runs out, the campaign becomes read-only. Everyone can still sign in, look at every door and every answer, run the analytics, and download the CSV exports. Nobody can record new doors, create canvasses or turfs, or import addresses. Subscribing again picks up exactly where you left off; nothing is deleted.
Organizing mode and casework
Organizing mode and constituent casework are part of the paid plan: switching into Organizing mode or turning on casework needs an Active or Complimentary account, even during a trial or the beta grandfather period. If a campaign in Organizing mode lets its subscription lapse, casework becomes read-only too: cases and residents are there to read and export, and nothing new can be logged until the owner subscribes again.
The beta promise
Campaigns that joined during the beta were told the run would stay free. It does: every campaign created before billing launched is free in Campaign mode until 1 January 2027, well past the election and the financial filing. Settings → Billing shows the date. Organizing mode and casework are new since that promise and are paid from the start.
What each status means
- Free trial: full access in Campaign mode until the date shown.
- Active: paying; everything works, renews monthly on the date shown.
- Payment failed: the last charge bounced; everything still works while Stripe retries. Update the card.
- Cancelled: the paid period ended; read-only, export free.
- Complimentary: DoorLine comped the account; everything works, no charge.
